It is my first time travelling to Dumulmeori (두물머리), a picturesque getaway in Gyeonggi-do province.
It was a warm summer, but the beautiful tranquil scenery at Dumulmeori brought so much zen to my mind. I would say it is a perfect location for a one-day trip nearby Seoul. And it is so easy to travel there – just hop on any station in Seoul and then transit at Jungang Line, and alight at Yangsu Station. And then it was basically by foot or bicycle.
I have written a blog about a Day-trip Itinerary to Dumulmeori. Be sure to check it out! Here’s a gallery blog post dedicated to this lush and scenic nature attraction just 90 minutes away from Seoul!
The place that we visited is called Dumulmeori (두물머리), which is located at the southern tip of Yangsuri (양수리) in Gyeonggi Province. “Dumulmeori”, literally means “the head of two waters (rivers)”. It refers to the starting point of both Bukhangang River and the Namhangang River.
The scenery was said to be particularly spectacular at dawn here at Dumulmeori. However, we arrived around late morning when it was totally bright and sunny. Although we missed the misty, mysterious and strangely calming look of Dumulmeori, our pictures look great too!
Hello Pheuron,
Thank you for all the posts on South Korea. I’m planning a trip there, and I’m wondering if this place is good to go for autumn?
Hi Chimneysweeper, yes. Dumulmeori has fantastic autumn folliage, definitely worth a visit!
